A Persian Wedding Celebration at Colvin House
Jenny and Milad’s downtown Chicago wedding at the Colvin House was a dream!
Their day was filled with pure joy as they welcomed family and friends to witness their half American, half Persian wedding ceremony.
In Jenny & Milad’s downtime, they enjoy walking to the beach and watching dogs. So naturally, we went to the beach for the portrait session. There, we captured beautiful memories overlooking the water.
Also, while there we were able to revisit the origin of their engagement, the bench where Milad proposed.
Anna Held Floral Studio created all day florals of bright yellow, purple and pink petals which made Jenny beam with joy.
While Fierce Productions and Pyrite Sun, Jenny and Milad’s full-service wedding planner and catering service, tied the bright and bold theme together.
Including decorating the Colvin House in earth crystals, stained glass vases, colored drink wear and purple linens.
Jenny and Milad’s wedding ceremony divided into two ceremonies; a traditional American wedding and a Persian wedding.
During the first ceremony, Jenny and Milad exchanged vows, reminding the other of just how much they are loved.
Followed, by the Persian ceremony, performed by Milad’s father in Farsi. Milad’s relatives and Jenny’s sister held a ceremonial cloth above as they ground sugar over top. This symbolizes a “sweet” and healthy life together.
After the ceremony, Jenny and Milad were able to join their guest for cocktails and appetizers outside the Colvin House.
Soon after, toasts began and Jenny and Milad’s family spoke about what two incredible individuals they were. Stories of Milad’s childhood Star Wars obsession and Jenny’s unbelievably kind heart made guests both tear up and laugh aloud.
Soon after, Pyrite Sun swept not only Jenny and Milad away by her breathtaking the cake but received a round of applause from everyone as the three-tier fantasy cake appeared.
This was the start of cake cutting, opening the dance floor and welcoming the late night Taco Truck, The Tamale Spaceship at this downtown Chicago wedding.
Jenny and Milad, I admire you both so much. The way you praise one another and are truly best friends is not only heartwarming but encouraging. I am so excited to see where life takes you next!
