Emily + Val’s Elopement

Thank the Lord for this little app we call Instagram. Because this couple right here slid into my DM’s one afternoon to tell me they were eloping and asked if I could be a part of it. I had never met Emily and Val until this point but was so thankful they knew who I was. On the day of the wedding, I was coaching Val on what to do for their First Look as he told me about they day he met his wife and they morning he asked her to marry him. “Amy…” he began, “I woke up super early and had all this energy. I went to Farm & Fleet to buy tools. I’m a simple man, Amy. I like tools. And the tools were on sale! I thought to myself, now this is going to be a good day!”. Val continued to tell me this story and honestly had me smiling ear and ear AND already crying! We were just talking about bargain priced tools and I was a mess because I could see just how much love he had in this story for Emily. “Now I’m a religious man, Amy. So I got in the car and I said ‘God, just give me a sign’ and our song came on the radio! I went home and dropped on one knee right there and asked her to marry me”. TEAR FEST!

Emily & Val eloped at the Belvidere County Courthouse in Belvidere, IL. They were accompanied by their entire family as they waited in the lobby for the judge to call their names. Their ceremony was nothing short of adorable. Tears again. After the ceremony, we went to Spencer Park in Belvidere for family formals and portraits. I brought Emily & Val what ALL my couples get for FREE….a bottle of champagne. And we had the BEST champagne pop. This was their first champagne pop and they were so talented that the thought of going Pro popped in their head. From there, we stopped by local ice cream bar, Sips and Sprinkles for ice cream. You heard me…cuteness overload!!

Emily & Val’s Sweet Words:

“My wife came home one day and told me she found the photographer she had been looking for. She showed me Amy’s pictures and I knew she was going to take our pictures. She was so fun to work with. I loved how comfortable she made everyone feel. It felt like we were having a long time friend capture our big day. If you’ve been thinking about having Amy capture your moments, go for it!” -Valentin

“From beginning to end she was so flexible and willing to help in any way possible. I was nervous on how our pictures were going to turn out because I wanted to make sure our love got captured through the lens. Amy exceeded my expectations and then some.” -Emily
