Melanie & Travis eloped at Chapel in the Pines! What I love most about elopements is that they are spontaneous and throw the rule book out of the window!
As a wedding photographer who generally spends two years with couples carefully planning every last detail, elopements challenge me to get more creative on the spot and just go for it!
Melanie and I connected on Facebook when she was looking for a last-minute Rockford elopement photographer for her and Travis in Sycamore, IL at their Chapel In The Pines wedding. Within just a day or so, she became an official ABP bride and I’m so glad she did.
A tiny whitewashed wedding chapel with a quaint bridal suite connected off the to the side. Inside the suite, we were able to capture her Bridal details along with her two daughters who helped Melanie get ready. And although this elopement venue offers a room for groom preparations, Travis and his son thought it best to put his groom attire on in the parking lot. And hey, why not!
Minutes before the ceremony begun, the groom to be looked around, patted down his pockets, looked around some more and then asked me “Amy, do you have any tissues?”. Travis knew he was going to lose all of his emotion when Melanie walked down the aisle. And he did, beautifully.
Melanie was walked down the aisle by her son to their perfect wedding ceremony surrounded only by family. During the ceremony, Travis surprised his wife with a brand new wedding ring that she knew nothing about. Their entire day was just what they wanted, was so much fun to be a part of and was truly beautiful.
Melanie and Travis, thank you so much for choosing me to be a part of your special day. I know you two have so many special moments ahead.
