Brittney and Bryan were married on February 15th at The Pavilion at Orchard Ridge Farms in Rockton, IL. Their mountainous theme of “Let The Adventure Begin” consistently spread throughout the entire day. Brittney’s bridal party got ready for the day in checkered flannel tops while Bryan’s guys received travel coolers as thank you gifts. Their tables were decorated in red and black checkers with accents of deep green greenery all around. Faint mountain tops were printed on the table numbers and even on koozies for guests.
One of my favorite things about this wedding was how free and genuine everyone was. When Brittney and her girls came out for the First Look and bridal party portraits, they all had on Ugg boots under their gowns to keep their feet warm. It was tiny details like this that made me smile and made this mountain themed wedding, truly adventurous. But I will have the say that the most adventurous part of the day came during Brittney & Bryan’s portraits.
On February 15th, Rockton had about 6 inches of solid ice on the ground. Which meant the feet of snow outside, was layered with nothing but a sheet of ice on top. And so when we hiked to the top of the hill for photos, we had to dig our heels in, in all sense of the word. And when it came to descending, Brittney b-lined it back to the barn in her rubber boots while I fell and fell hard. And since I was already down there, I decided to skate on my bottom, all the day down. #professional.
Brittney and Bryan, thank you so much for including me in your day and being so wonderful to work with. I wish you all the best and cannot wait to see where life’s adventure’s take you!
